Tarzana Contemporary
Contemporary Patio, Los Angeles
This elegant garden functions as an outdoor living room, with textured plantings in shades of green as the walls of the space. The existing patio was extended with a grid of concrete pavers; warm-colored flagstone was re-used and introduced into the new seating area to play off the geometry as a touch of wabi sabi. The same honey-colored tones are seen in the river stones surrounding the central cassia tree. The focal point of the space is a sculpture by Los Angeles potter Adam Silverman.
