Design by Vibe Design Group Photography by Peter Hyatt Vibe’s concept for this major renovation was to give the building the appearance of an original grand homestead – while simultaneously introducing a contemporary loft style addition. The original curved staircase was transformed into a sculptural element with Blackbutt battens in front of existing curved windows, casting a magical display of shadows throughout the day. Black Glass reflects the elevated views from the opposing windows while a curved black Alucobond element disguises garaging. Part demolition has exposed the swimming pool to the outdoors and a carefully considered layout has transformed the original into a functional and liveable family home.
