Transitional Kitchen, San Francisco

A compact island with room for four is the star of this remodeled kitchen. The combination of upper cabinets and open shelving balances storage and display, keeping the space bright and open. Just outside the work zone is a built-in computer desk. The adjacent open bookshelf provides easy access to favorite recipes, while the desktop computer makes it easy to search for new ones.
