Antipodean Love

Hello Antipodean Lovelies, Welcome to my world of gorgeous Australian and New Zealand gifts! Antipodean Love is a little company I started in the winter of 2011 in mighty Melbourne and have now moved to Ballarat, Australia. Before I go on, I hear some of you asking yourselves exactly what does “Antipodean” mean? I will not get too technical on you here but the English Collins Dictionary describes “Antipodean” [an-tip-uh-dee-uhn] (adj) as “people or things that come from or relate to Australia and New Zealand”. So there you have it, this for me exactly represents my brand and concept – a love of things from Australia and New Zealand. (I also really like how the word sounds!) This concept store was born out of a frustration in sourcing handmade Australiana gifts for family and friends overseas. It is very important for me to give and receive a gift that makes me feel happy and proud. I am proud to come from this part of the world and wanted to give a gift that was representative of Australia in some way but was not at all tacky. So the quest began to source Australiana and Kiwiana products. After many hours rummaging through markets and trailing through the internet I have brought together some amazing Australian and New Zealand designers under one online store for your ease and shopping pleasure. In essence, all of my experience, my skills, and my passions converged to create the perfect storm when I set up shop. I feel so lucky because I get to do something I love every single day: sourcing new products, working with handmade goods, or packing up orders.
