About Us

David Bartram Furniture was established in 1981 and is based in the UK at Heckingham, near Norwich, Norfolk. We have an extensive range of skills and experience in bespoke joinery, building interiors, and the design and manufacture of fine furniture. With over 100 years of combined experience, each skilled member of the team plays an important role in producing precise and beautifully finished pieces using both traditional and contemporary wood crafting techniques. Our in-house cabinet and joinery workshop is fully equipped to undertake any commission.

We commissioned David to produce two pieces for us, as gifts for family members - a jewellery chest (for a 50th birthday) and a wedding coffer (for our daughter and son-in-law). Both pieces are beautifully designed and crafted. David and his team were great at incorporating our wishes and ideas for woods, shapes, size to make sure the end pieces were personalised. It was a pleasure to work with genuine craftspeople. Highly recommended.

I would highly recommend David as a very skilled furniture maker. He designed some beautiful oak bookshelves, understanding exactly what I wanted. He works with the wood so cleverly to emphasise it’s natural features. He also restored a lyre back chair - so skilfully that you would not know it had been restored!

Really impressed by the craftsmanship and detailed work of David Bartram and his team. They designed a beautiful quality bookcase to fill a large wall at the end of the lounge at my house in Norfolk; it has become the stand out feature, but fully in keeping. Great!

“ I cannot praise enough the expertise in making, problem solving and the finished result. The craftspeople were polite, very thoughtful, tidy and hard working. We are delighted with our beautiful kitchen, especially as David was able to source local Ash to use. ”
