Gardens by Di

We were extremely pleased with Di's professionalism and her knowledge of how to set up our front berm area. We knew what we wanted-- something simple. Di worked with us to accomplish exactly what we wanted. Everything went off like clockwork from beginning to end. Most importantly, we were able to stay within our budget! Di is extremely easy to work with and accommodates her client. We are extremely pleased!

The only yard I'd seen in our neighborhood that I liked was the neighbor behind us. So when we decided to rip out the old, dead mess in our front yard I strolled around the corner and asked who had done theirs. They gave me Di's number When I called I let Di know that I didn't want anything that resembled Tucson - two rocks, three plants and some gravel. That's what everyone had done in town when the California drought started killing off lawns. I told Di that I wanted an English garden. We had just come back from a tour of Britain and had strolled some of the most beautiful gardens we had ever seen. Di said that English or Cottage gardens were her favorites and it could be done with the drought-resistant plants available here in Southern California. We had a time element as well. We had a wedding coming up in June and guests coming to the house. Could it be done in time to give it all time to grow a bit and not look like it had just been thrown in the ground the day before? She said it could. The next week Di and her amazing crew arrived and the happy transformation began. They did it all in three days. Like a finely-tuned machine, these guys removed some of the oldest, nastiest plants you could imagine. Redid the irrigation system. Tore out concrete. Graded and smoothed. Plants were delivered. Boulders arrived. Di arrived and placed plants and boulders. It was a ballet of controlled mayhem. Gravel, topsoil, bark - all to the roar of a Bobcat and music from a radio station from Ventura, Then they were gone. Three weeks later it's growing. We can see it every day. Di has been back to check on it. I invited the crew to come by when they can. It was all done in plenty of time for the wedding and guests to ooh and ahh at our English garden. The neighbors love it, too. Nothing better than a well-thought out project done well.

Gardens by Di is simply in one word…extraordinary! Di has an amazing aesthetic and was able to visualize not only turning my yard into an oasis including adding a pergola and outdoor dining area, but also replacing lawns with drought resistant plants and drip irrigation. Di was a pleasure to work with. She’s one of the most reliable contractors I’ve ever worked with. Very dependable and stands by her work. If ever there was an issue, Di was quick to take care of it. I cannot recommend her highly enough. I would not hesitate using Gardens by Di again. Thank you Di!!!

Di is absolutely amazing! We have a very steep slope backyard and she took on the challenge and far exceeded our expectations. Her knowledge of plant materials for Southern California is amazing. Steve, her foreman, and entire crew was great! Very professional, timely, and respectful that it was our home and not a construction site. I would highly recommend Garden's by Di....she is an excellent designer!

Diane worked directly with us to understand what we wanted to accomplish. After understanding our goals and our vision, she spent a lot of time figuring out what to do and how to do it. Then she and her team went to work. As the job unfolded, she kept us informed every step of the way, allowing us to participate creatively along with her. Her construction crew was timely, reliable, and courteous. They also responded to our questions and adjustments. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the results and the value for our money. We love our new backyard and will enjoy it for many years to come. We look forward to having Diane and her team come back to help us with the front yard and other landscaping projects. We have a wonderful new relationship!

Di Larson did our front yard landscaping 8 years ago and she was professional and creative. I enjoyed working with her and have recommended her on more then several occasions. She has also consulted on our rear courtyard and backyard which we have used her suggestions as well.
