As an interior designer, I have worked closely with Ecohome since 2007. They are the Bay Area's unmatched resource for eco-friendly flooring, cabinets, counters, tile, paints, plasters, stains and sealers. We have partnered on dozens of projects, and I consider myself tremendously lucky to have them as a local resource. There are many vendors and showrooms calling themselves "green" these days, but Ecohome is the real deal. Before a product makes it to their floor, it goes through a deeply researched and extensive vetting process. Their staff undergoes comprehensive training and continuing education on the lifecycle of everything they carry, and are versed in the most sustainable installation methods. They are always on the lookout for what's new, as well as re-evaluating what's old and can be improved upon or replaced. The owners are budget-conscious, as well, and strive to carry products at a range of price points, that are cost competitive or even less than conventional equivalents.
