We hired Kerwin Landscaping (family runs Swanson's Nursery) to install pavers in our small 350 sq ft. townhouse backyard. Overall, the owner and contractors were pleasant to work with and the job was completed. Several areas that I felt needed improvement: Project management needed to be onsite more often to answer my questions or provide guidance to the workers. Attention to my concerns that the pavers weren't cut properly and unevenly placed, slope angle wasn't accurate and conduits were blocked after sand was placed. The project manager listened to my concerns but always seemed to have an excuse and repeatedly remind me of their years of experience. I received a second opinion post project completion who validated my concerns and gave me direction on fixing the problems. If I had to do the project over, I would have hired a separate project management who could communicate the budget, timeline, design direction (hiring outside designer if necessary) and manage the install contractor. Also, I would have become more informed about pavers so I felt more confident in being able to ask questions.
