We develop designs for homes that have a timeless appeal – they are tasteful, warm and inviting. The design is informed by the site context, our Clients and environmental factors. Passive Energy Design; with consideration of solar orientation, good ventilation, thermal mass, and insulation is a given for any project. We aim to use local and Australian made materials, reclaimed and environmentally sustainable materials whenever possible. We create spaces that allow quiet reflection, and others that encourage active participation. The outside spaces are as important to us as the interior, and particular attention is paid to the interface between the two. Our most important goal is the creation of a friendly home.

Ive had the pleasure of collaborating with Adie Courtney on a few projects. I always love working with Adie. She is a thoughtful, skilled and patient architect who listens to the needs of her clients and designs beautiful spaces with attention to detail that meet and exceed the clients needs. As a collaborator working alongside her, Adie is always open to exploring new ideas which creates a great collaborative atmosphere where the magic happens!

Adie is a fantastic architect and great to work with. She was very responsive to our needs, extremely practical in her design for our family home renovation and had great ideas to enhance the project. She completely managed our project which made our home renovation stress-free. Following the project she has been fabulous in following up any queries we had. Our project finished early (!), and on budget. It is fantastic and we love living here. I would highly recommend her.

I hired Adie when a friend mentioned she was having her do a second project. Not words uttered often. We were also needing someone to work with a 1920 house that had beautiful bones but hadn't been renovated since the mid 20th century. We wanted a very functional family home, with continuity between the new and old areas but not too old fashioned. My husband has strong asthetic views and I am a practical person, there were heritage issues and the council of course. Adie is a natural communicator and balanced all these people with ease. Adie also worked well with the builders and an interior designer. I highly recommend Adie Courtney Architects and can report my friend has engaged her for a third time!

My wife and I have worked with Adie Courtney on the design and construction of a $1m plus house and on the renovation of two existing houses involving expenditures of $150k, and $500k. In each case we found working with Adie a delight. She came up with ideas we hadn't even thought of to achieve our objectives, and suggested a significant number of improvements to what we had planned. At the same time we found she always listened carefully, and was very practical and responsive, and sensitive to our preferences. We would have no hesitation in recommending Adie to friends and relations and would certainly use her again if we had the need for an architect.

Commented: Hi- could you please let me know what the flooring is. Thanks. That would look quite lovely. Similar to our theme of carrara marble and polished concrete. Keep the colour and textural palette of materials between the two simple, and both elements will shine. Che...
