Souter Built has worked with Hector Abrahams Architects since 2016 on multiple projects from preliminary planning to completion. Building with Hector and his firm has been a pleasure as we thrive on highly detailed challenges. When we purchased our derelict Victorian cottage, only four rooms and a crumbling bow window and parapet remained. It was our desire to restore the cottage and also to extend the house, incorporating a new kitchen and family room, master bedroom wing, bathroom and verandahs, to take advantage of the corner position and northern aspect. We employed Hector Abrahams Architects to design and project manage the restoration and build, and are absolutely delighted with the result! The new extension is light and bright and enhances the original cottage. Hector Abrahams Architects were particularly careful in overseeing the details of the construction and were always quick to respond to any questions we, or the builder, might have. We always felt confident that this project, which was precious to us, was in safe hands! We would highly recommend Hector Abrahams Architects.

We have enjoyed working with Hector over many years to improve our 1907 Federation home for comfortable contemporary living without compromising its original features. From adding a skylight above the staircase to re configuring the the kitchen into a practical and aesthetically exciting room. Hector also designed a breathtaking octagonal garden pavilion that sits beautifully in our private landscape. Hector is acutely aware of the historical significance of our home and made decisions based on our passion for its retention. We have enjoyed a pleasant relationship based on this mutual interest.
