Kirk's design experience shines through every time. He has provided great layout ideas for a couple of my homes in Surry Hills, NSW and Northern Rivers NSW. I recommend you turn to him when you need an expert in best and clever use of space; he's a master at it, it's his superpower. He is also fast. His brain processes problems and finds solutions really quickly. He is deeply engaged in his subject, combining passion, knowledge, a strong aesthetic and decades of experience. He can also adapt to client needs and heritage limitations. We were impressed by his eye for detail, his preference for and knowledge of sustainable design and energy use, his obvious love of his subject and the world of design in general and most importantly, he was happy to work with us, as opposed to in spite of us, ha! Can't praise him highly enough.

We have a Church in the Byron Hinterland and turned to Kirk when the going got tough. Kirk is super responsive and within 15 minutes of entering our Church house knew what worked and what did not. When we called on him recently he was ahead of the game within hours and has been leading out renovation design ever since. Kirk is a master of the tight space, of detail, and of liveability. His knowledge covers all aspects including ventilation (AC); Materiality; Structure and h,e has a strong sense of heritage, which is important to our design.

A few years ago we were building a sprawling one-storey house on a rural property near Exeter in southern NSW. After the developer completed the layout we realised it wasn’t quite working for us so we contacted Lenard Design Associates for some design advice. Kirk’s suggestions were invaluable and resulted in a successful project which we were able to sell for a substantial profit. Recently we started working on plans for a new family home on a suburban lot we bought in Brisbane. When we were struggling with the new design we were lucky to remember Kirk’s skills. This time we engaged him for a full design and he came through again, delivering a concept design that’s far exceeded our expectations. We’re talking with a builder now and aim to start construction later this year. What we appreciated most about Kirk was his ability to understand our needs and interpret them in the style we requested. He seems to have a knack for working out clever solutions and adapting to any style.

Kirk Lenard was able to review architectural drawings of my roof conversion that had been rejected by Strata and come up with a much more amenable and detail-driven design within 24 hours. His attention to detail and Strata-law savvy was extremely helpful in the situation. While the build is yet to go ahead, I have no hesitation in recommending his services and would definitely hire Lenard Design Associates in the future.
