About Us

Scott and Ryland Architects is an established Sydney practice. Our residential focus is on integrating fresh contemporary design with existing heritage fabric to provide practical, cost effective homes with personality and incredible style. We have completed more than 200 terrace house renovations in the last 10 years, all with significant heritage issues to address. This has involved writing and researching the heritage reports and successfully maintaining the existing historic forms and character, fulfilling council’s heritage requirements and NSW heritage guidelines for best practice, whilst also fulfilling our clients needs.

Peter Scott is a director of Scott & Ryland Architects with extensive experience in domestic renovations to terrace houses in Paddington & Woollahra, assisting in the preparation of a conservation management plan for Jenolan Caves House and ancillary buildings, for the restoration of the 1930’s administration building at Raleigh Park, Kensington for Mirvac and assisting the project architect in conservation of 12th century abbey and nunnery buildings, Isle of Iona, Scotland with John Renshaw architects and the National Trust for Scotland.
