The studio is comprised of long standing designers whose backgrounds and talents span many industries, this experience ensures we are well versed to tackle a multitude of varying project typologies. Design is ever changing, at Tonic we continually challenge the notion of design. We believe in pushing the boundaries between feasibility and concept, giving our architects the ability to explore creative solutions that produce timeless, through provoking architecture. With current projects spanning Residential + Multi Residential, Commercial, Hospitality, Retail and Urban Design we work carefully to ensure outcomes enrich the built environment through careful design, project budgeting and working with like minded contractors and consultants. Our goal is to ensure that our designs are futureproof. That what we create stands the test of time and encompasses an end result that is functional, unique and adaptive to your environment.

The team at TONIC are a professional, smart group of designers who I have worked with on numerous home builds and renovations. Nothing is too much trouble and even last minute on site issues are dealt with seamlessly. I would recommend TONIC to anyone looking to work with a team of designers who truly care about the final built project. With other architects in the past, I’ve found there are those that ‘ speak the lingo ’ but cannot translate this for individuals who don’t have exposure to design or architecture. TONIC are fantastic at this – I’ve seen this on each and every project we’ve collaborated on and it truly makes the clients experience during what can often be a stressful experience, stress free and enjoyable. I would highly recommend.

I contacted tonic to help with a Queenslander house renovation. It included reconfiguring two bedrooms into a master suite, creating a study nook and a new kitchen layout. They also altered the shed/horse stable and set the layout of the pool and outdoor entertaining. I was just expecting some well thought out plans, but received so much more! When getting our first concept plan back there we so many exciting and innovative designs that I could never have imagined. Once we complete the plans we will have added so much more value for our house without spending extra money. The whole team were friendly and accommodating all at a good price. It has been a great experience to work with tonic and also been an investment for the future value of our house.

TONIC assisted us with a complete re design and re working of our family home in Grange. We were updating an old style Queenslander to a very modern contemporary we wanted finish - timber, glass and concrete. We were eager for lots of light and a bright clean finish. The level of communication throughout the process was exactly what we needed as we had never done any form of renovation work in the past - they were always available for a chat. Secondly they were great at interpreting our brief - what we wanted and how we described it is exactly what was drawn and presented to us. We would work with tonic again in a heartbeat, they were reasonably priced for the level of work we required and the level of finish and provided a variety of costing options for us to choose from. Overall a great experience and we are so happy with the end result.

We are currently working with Matt and the guys at TONIC Design to design and develop plans for our renovation/extension. We have found the team to be open, friendly and respectful. (An additional bonus is that they have a cafe onsite at the office!) Matt's design thus far has been able to incorporate the big ideas, while he has conscientiously considered our budget constraints. We look forward to moving ahead into the coming phases of our renovation... (Sorry - no photos at this stage!)
