My name is Jessica Alexandra Corbett (JAC), and I’m really happy you’ve stopped by to visit. Designed by JAC is a place where I showcase my unique textile designs through handcrafted home ware products and fashion. It’s also a place where I like to babble about colour, interior design, art, travel and adventure and connect with likeminded souls; just like you. My journey of hand-dyeing textiles using natural dyes started 10 years ago living in a sleepy coastal town called Jervis Bay. I found myself inspired by the natural surroundings of my home and started using resistant dyeing techniques to create unique patterns, textures and colours. Salt crystals, wind swept sand dunes and deep indigo waves are all featured heavily in my work. The natural environment continues to be my biggest inspiration and over the years my work has expanded to include a greater range of products, colours and patterns that have inspired me from all corners of the globe. My products are eco-friendly and are all hand made. I value the origin of where I source my materials to ensure each product meets my fussy and organic standards. I use organic cottons and silks; create designs, use organic brass zipper, organic labels and an eco friendly cushions inserts. Designed by JAC also offers a range of design and styling services. Home for me is now on the beautiful Gold Coast. I spend my days hanging with my partner Ben, running along the beach, baking organic treats, listening to tunes, planning overseas holidays and dabbling in different dyeing techniques and textile designs that see Designed by JAC continue to grow and evolve.
