Horse On Toast

Horse On Toast is sculptural, personal, useful and slightly strange. The name refers to the first meal I ate outside of Australia, in Helsinki, Finland, and it was good. My practice is hybrid of art and product design, where the subtleties and poetics of space, form, ecology, experience and gesture inform the creation of useable objects. I bring a background of both fine arts and biological science (specifically ecological systems) to my work. Sustainable and locally sourced materials feature heavily in Horse On Toast pieces, wherever the work may be developed. From kangaroo and jarrah while in Western Australia, to volcanic rock and lopi wool in Iceland or even urban debris in New York. I graduated with a BA (Fine Art) from Curtin University, Western Australia in 2009 and an Advanced Diploma of Product Design and Innovation at Central Instititue of Technology in 2014. I live in Perth, Western Australia, but am often found elsewhere.
