Living in many NSW country towns in her youth, Meredith went on to graduate from UTS in 1991. A love of world travel and art of all cultures has influenced her art to this day. Meredith resides in sunny Queensland, working from her Brisbane studio, using artist quality oil paint or acrylic paint on canvas. Landscapes and abstract artworks. In 2016 Meredith set out to follow the Brisbane River from its beginnings at Mt Stanley to the end at Moreton Bay, the result was a successful exhibition of 30 paintings. In 2018, Meredith's 'Sublime Landscapes', 80 artworks exhibited at the Lockyer Valley Regional Gallery, Queensland. "Inspired by the beauty of landscapes, I try to give artworks a dramatic feel, drawing the viewer into the painting. I want you to feel you are within the painting and feel the cool depths, the power charge of a incoming storm, the warmth of the sun, or the salt in the ocean air” In 2019 Meredith completed a series of abstract paintings inspired by her childhood fascination with the colour of Australian Opals. It was during this time, Meredith coined the words 'Australian Freestyle' to describe her painting style. Large, free flowing brushstrokes on large canvas, full of movement and feeling. 2020 The Colours of Texas series evolved, inspired by the rich colours of landscape around north-west NSW and south-west Queensland. Artworks of which featured on The Block TV series 2021. Meredith is an Established featured Seller on Bluethumb, a top 30 best seller in 2020 and finalist in the Art Lovers Australia Art Prize 2021/22. As co-creator/curator of the annual Tower Art Show, at Marist College, Ashgrove. Meredith inspired and encouraged established and emerging artists to exhibit art within the Brisbane community from 2016 to 2021. A finalist in the Doyles Art Prize, Clayton Utz Art Prize and the Queensland Royal Agricultural Society exhibition in 2022. Meredith has participated in 100+ group exhibitions, and continues to encourage an inspire others with a love of art.
