Jo designed a beautiful green hardwood kitchen, bar and amenities block for our new accommodation venture. We are are really pleased with the end result.

Our companies have had the pleasure of working with Jo of Building Design Studio over the past 4 years, during which period of time she has been responsible for designing and bringing to fruition 7 homes and 2 units on our 29 lot Seascape Residential Estate in Bicheno Tasmania. Each and every owner is extremely happy and proud of their homes. Jo's designs epitomise the modern comtemporary look [which we were seeking] and embrace concepts that provide great natural light and heat whilst maintaining a scale of economy that reflected the market trend. As well as designing the homes Jo's expertise as an Interior Decorator was exhibited through her ability to provide exterior and interior colour schemes,kitchen and bathroom layouts,tile and carpet selections etc. We have commissioned Jo and her associates to provide designs for a further 5 homes over the next 12 months. Jo can be highly recommended to those requiring the services of a very talented and experienced designer and interior decorator. We found Jo to be respectful of our ideas and budget limitations, and she was able to adapt our vision into reality by putting in those small changes and layouts that made all of our ideas actually work! Her level of understanding about eco-design meant our desire to use natural materials and work with passive solar concepts has been born into an incredibly comfortable living space which is always just the loveliest warm temperature in our Tassie winters. It is always a relief to have Jo deal with planning issues and her knowledge of these processes cuts down alot of time when you are actually planning the house. Jo's sense of space from her interior design background makes for lovely through-lines of vision in our home. As one friend said "even the shoes have a view" when looking at our dumping ground for a busy family's footwear! I only wish we had no budget limitations so we could let Jo design something completely wow!, but having said that she had made an amazing home for us on a small budget with flexibility to alter the existing design down the track. Jo won a sustainable design award for her work on our house (2015 BDA National awards) and she has designed our next build which is currently in planning. Jo is a terrific communicator and collaborator, very smart and a lovely person and we highly recommend her for anyone to work with on their projects.

We engaged Building design Studio to assist with design, drawing up plans and the approval process of our house. The assistance we received was most helpful with the end product displaying a sharp and modern design which along with a very practical structural design resulted in what we believe Is a house which is very liveable and comfortable in its surroundings.
