When we finally made the decision to build on a sloping block in Diamond Creek, we knew we wanted to engage with builders who were local to the area, understood the landscape and environment, dedicated to a well-crafted and sustainable build, and who would allow us to have some collaboration throughout the process. Kustom really is a family, and keeps that energy amongst their team, and it really shows in their workmanship, communication and process. From design conception to finish, they worked tirelessly and always showed up to overcome obstacles and compromises - and always with a smile and a cheer. We chose to build with Kustom Living as we had seen their workmanship in two of their previous projects. Working with Greg, Andy, their team, and our architect, we realised our dream, downsized home. The entire process, from their initial inspection of our block of land, the design, planning and construction, was smooth and seamless (from our perspective) and a pleasure to navigate and experience (in spite of lockdowns etc.). Importantly for us (given that we were renting during the building process), was the fact that every stage of the building process had a timeframe by which it was to be completed and it was at every stage, and earlier, in most cases. Communication was key in the process of building our house and Greg and Andy (in particular) were available to respond to all our queries in a timely manner which was really appreciated. Kustom Living exceeded our expectations in terms of ensuring that we were satisfied with the progress of the project. Advice and recommendations were always available (and given) as we made changes along the way and these were always accommodated by Greg and his team (special thanks to James and Billy). We could not be happier with the building quality and all materials used and we were always consulted along the way. Our house was completed ahead of schedule and presented beautifully to us at handover. We absolutely love our home. We would not hesitate to recommend Kustom Living as a boutique, specialist builder if you are looking for the “personal” experience. We wish Greg and the team all the best in their future projects.
