We are surprised by the poor workmanship of Sydney Woodworkers, an organisation which totally ignored our instructions for quality windows that open properly. We sent a photo of windows to be replicated, that are perfectly proportioned and work superbly, but when the Sydney Woodworkers’ windows were installed, we realised they couldn’t be opened adequately because the horns were too high - three quarters of the window height!!! The company refused to rectify their mistake, one that every builder who has seen the job confirms is the result of thoughtlessness and a lack of common sense. The company refused to supply a carpenter for the day to make adjustments, even though they admitted error over the phone. Eventually, they cynically offered rectification if we hired someone to remove the windows, deliver them to the SYDNEY WOODWORKERS’ work site, return them to our home an hour away, then reinstall at our own expense - extremely costly. The boss never once spoke with us. He refused to communicate directly and did absolutely nothing beyond relating his refusal to help through a powerless middle man. We are not builders and had a reasonable expectation that the product would work. When open they barely allow a breeze through, but this is of zero concern to Sydney Woodworkers. It’s amazing that businesses are allowed to get away with such practices
