Ambrose Furniture and Homewares

We just received delivery of a chest of drawers, bookcase and bedside table for my son's bedroom. They are beautifully built and exactly what we asked for. The guys who delivered the furniture were also excellent.

This store is a gem! For just a bit more than you’d pay for some mass-produced product with thin veneer covering particleboard, you can acquire a finely crafted item of furniture in solid hardwood. I’ve purchased a number of items from Ambrose Furniture in the last few days, and I’m delighted with each one.

We originally bought a table from a large furniture chain and after two trys to deliver our table they took it away and gave us our money back as both were faulty. We then purchased our new table from the team at Ambrose Furniture.We were able to get the length,width,timber type & design we wanted. We were even encouraged to go down to the factory to discuss our job with Trevor who was very helpful and returned my calls during the process.I am extremly happy with the end result as it is a 'work of art' Trevor has 36 years experience with Ambrose and it shows. Zac and Simon were very helpful and kept me informed of the progress along the way.So we are very pleased to have bought a top quality craftmanship product that was made to suit our room and made here in Brisbane is a bonus. In hindsight we are glad we ended up with this Aussie made product as i know it will be passed down to the next generation in our family as opposed the the imported second rate product we bought originally which actually had a hole you could see the floor through in a Knot on the table,and underneath it was rough sawn finish that you could get splinters from ! And the price difference was not what you think.We even had options of having a straight edge or a bevelled edge of your liking (there are different options) By the way Trevor even told me of the different types of coating options and spent a fair amount of his time to discuss our options which we appreciate. The quality and value of their work is 5 stars.It was delivered onetime as well.

I have had the extreme pleasure of dealing with the talented boys at Ambrose Furniture for some time now. My wife and I spent many months looking for the right display TV unit for our lounge room. We had removed a fireplace and had a fixed space to work with and no one except Ambrose Furniture could or would spend the time and effort working with us to give us exactly what we needed. The attention to detail was excellent and the end result was just right. We met many times, the guys did numerous 3D renders, specs and quotes as we continued to massage it to meet our needs. We even met the foreman of the factory at certain stages just to ensure everyone was on the same page. We also required a couple of shelves to be adjustable and to have some strip lighting to a couple of our feature items. They sourced this and routed a couple of channels under the lip so that the strip could not be seen at all. The lighting consultant they used, Life LED Lighting was also very flexible and knowledgeable. We are now having a coffee table (with a shelf below), designed and built by Ambrose as it seems yet again, what we want, which is quality solid timber in the stain we want, just is not available in the general furniture market. Just as an aside, we had previously had Ambrose Furniture build 2 dining tables of different lengths but the same width so we could butt them up for big family occasions. This was many years ago, so we were very happy to find that they had not gone out of business, just relocated to New Farm.
