Crayon Chick

Crayon Chick is a range of handcrafted homewares, jewellery and accessories featuring old crafts and new tricks. Reinterpreting traditional crafts inspires the work of Michelle Harvey, the designer/maker behind Crayon Chick. Michelle’s background in Fine Arts naturally led to a practice of constant exploration, curiosity and experimentation. And so, in 2009, Crayon Chick was launched. Her work explores fibres, textiles and techniques to showcase texture and design. This current range focuses on traditional and ancient rope knotting to create striking homewares and accessories. Michelle has interpreted these classic techniques in a sophisticated, contemporary way to highlight the intricate weave and natural materials. Beautiful colours have been carefully selected to sit easily in any home. These pieces are intended to compliment the décor of any room while gently drawing attention to their subtle textures and design. Crayon Chick products are handmade by Michelle in her Melbourne studio.
