We hired Alair to help us complete an extensive Kitchen, Main Floor and Principle Ensuite renovation. After meeting Jason and David for the first time and learning about their process I knew we had found the right builder/contractor. Having completed not only a full build but renovations in the past and having them not go well my wife and I were very apprehensive on who would help us with this one. Quickly though we could sense a high level of trust with Jason and David and once we learned about their process and how they are 100% transparent and their detailed scopes of work and software we knew this would be the right fit. Like all projects we did run into a couple of issues, but Jason our Project Manager was always there to first listen and then quickly act and find the solution. What a difference from our previous experiences!! Jason's communication and structured meetings ensured we were always in the know and we had so much less stress because of this. It really allows you to feel in control of your project without all of the stress of trying to run it yourself. We finished on budget and on time and are blown away with what a difference it was compared to our previous experiences. You can really tell Jason and team take such pride in what they do and care so deeply about their clients. The finished product is beautiful, and we could not be happier with our whole experience from start to finish. Please! don't make the wrong decision by not choosing Alair for your next renovation. Alair Waterloo completed an extensive home renovation for our property in Guelph. The projected lasted approximately one year and involved a complete gut from top to bottom, and inside and out. As a former custom builder myself, when it came time to build a project 20 years post retirement I knew I wanted to hire someone to take care of the project for me. Alair’s process was unmatched, the transparency, the honesty and the passion excited us for our personal project, but in the end another builder had sold us on the idea that they could do it for less and we went against everything our instincts told us and chose the other builder. Not only did we end up paying substantially more for our project than we ever anticipated to, the process was exhausting and disheartening. Alair’s full transparency process would have kept us on track for both the scheduling and financing of our project, and given us more peace of mind that we were in good hands at all times with constant communication. We have since sold that home and are excited to work with Alair on our upcoming project. Although we didn’t work with Alair for the entirety of our previous project, we hope you can learn from our mistake and that this review helps you make the right decision to go with the right guys. My husband and I bought a home for our family and knew we had to make some changes to better suit our family and make it more functional. We had a very tight timeline and like most people, a budget to work within. From the moment we met with David and Jason we knew we were in good hands. What really stood out to us from the first meeting was how attentive they were to our needs and wants. They spent most of the meeting learning about us and reasons behind the project to better understand and help guide us. Their "Project Planning Phase" to us is the only way anyone should build or renovate. We were able to look at different options to ensure we maximized every aspect of our renovation, while fitting within our budget. The key takeaway form this phase was that we had an accurate budget and schedule before we ever signed a Construction Contract! Once the renovation began, it didn't matter who we had helping us. Whether it was our Project Manager Jake or the rest of the team that came to help when needed. They were all so attentive to our concerns and questions. The level of communication by the Alair team is unmatched! Their trade team are all so gracious and kind, but most important have the quality of work to back up all those qualities. I could go on and on about how great our experience was, it was not without it's issues like all renovations or builds, but it was never a worry with the Alair Team as they always had a great solution to every problem. It was a truly amazing experience and redefined our expectations of what a renovation should feel like.
