Grace Lewin have recently completed a reconstruction and renovation of our two storey 1880 terrace. The terrace was in poor condition and the entire site required a total rebuild including a striking three storey double garage, studio and roof top terrace. It was a multi faceted project managing the old and the new. Grace Lewin were excellent communicators and were in full control of the build from beginning to end. We are thrilled with the completed product. All their hard work has been rewarded with an amazing result. The company should be extremely proud of their achievement.

When I meet James and Sam from Grace Lewin Construction, and they showed me through one of their houses, I knew they were the right fit for the renovation of my Victorian house. Throughout the entire build they provided the highest level of respect for me as the client and demonstrated a level of professionalism and commitment that could not be faulted. Sam and James were great to work with, and we were delighted with the result. They completed the job on time, kept us advised on what was happening every step of the way (the use of WhatsApp is particularly smart) and even tidied up on site every day. They improved plans (getting rid of the designer’s stupid nib wall) and ensured absolute quality control throughout. A very strong recommend.

If there was a 6-star option, we would choose it! We engaged Grace Lewin for a major renovation project (gutting our entire 1st floor & adding a 2nd storey to our home). As 1st time home owners, with no renovation experience, and living overseas during the project, we were definitely nervous, especially after hearing so many horror stories of renovation projects gone wrong (note: with other builders, not Grace Lewin). Sam, James and the GL team were nothing short of incredible. They were honest and transparent around budget & scope expectations, we trusted their guidance throughout the project when key decisions needed to be made, they stuck to the project timeline, their partner ecosystem was all first class, and their quality of work was outstanding. I have some family members in the construction industry and even they were blown away when they walked through to see the final product. We couldn't be happier with the Grace Lewin team and would strongly endorse them should you be considering them for a new build or reno. We chose Grace Lewin ahead of other builders because they presented themselves as a young and enthusiastic team with fresh ideas, eager to establish themselves in the market. And that is exactly what we got from them throughout the entire process. James, Sam & the wider team were friendly, approachable and professional at every step of our build project. Their organisation and efficiency made the entire process smooth and stress-free. They provided us with clear choices and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. Pam and I are very happy with the finished job. As with most renovation jobs, as the plaster came off and floors came up, a number of unexpected issues were revealed. James, Sam and their tradespeople were more than happy to work through the issues to help us come up with solutions. On other occasions the specifications in our plans ended up being unclear or unworkable. On these occasions it took a little more effort to eventually arrive at a solution which was mutually acceptable. Negotiating the frequency and level of involvement was never something we all totally agreed upon. James was of the view that any and all issues should be delt with at the limited end of stage payment inspection or at the final defect inspection. Living so close by I always preferred more frequent contact, which I suspect was a bit of a nuisance to them. However, that being said there was never any doubt that GraceLewin were focused on our job and were progressing on time and on budget. We have now moved back in, ahead of the scheduled completion date, and are greatly enjoying what is like a brand-new home. We would happily recommend GraceLewin to anyone wanting a high quality renovation, particularly if you want to leave it up to them from start to finish.

Sam and James were extremely thorough throughout the entire process. Their pricing was very competitive compared to other tenders but more importantly they completed our dream home on time and to a fantastic degree of craftsmanship. They sorted through issues as they arose including working with the council and kept us updated throughout. We are now living in our beautiful home and couldn’t recommended them more highly. At a time when building projects are notoriously slow and prices are blowing out, Grace Lewin delivered my renovation on time and on budget, without a hiccup. Sam and his team were brilliant to work with on the renovation of my gallery. Very efficient and very easy to deal with. Sam was a great communicator, although I'm a lay person he was never patronising, gave sound advice when needed, and was always working to make sure we got a great result. Sam was also able to call on his network and get better prices and delivery times than I would ever have been able to achieve myself. Grace Lewin keep a tidy site and they have genuinely friendly and polite workers that it is a pleasure to be around while working. Huge thanks to Sam and James for a wonderful new bathroom. From start to finish, Sam &James looked after everything, from design to the final finish, and was completed as per the schedule. Always arrived when they said they would and that included all the trades that worked on the project. And the end result, simply put everyone that has seen it, loves it. And in addition they completely modernised our kitchen cupboards and bench tops. I would highly recommend Grace Lewis construction and would always go to them for any other work I have.

I was dreading renovating my house and had put it off several times due to me stressing over trust issues regarding quality, timeframes, and builders not delivering to my expectations. I must say, I was so pleasantly surprised with the level of professionalism James and Sam provided me with. I was provided with a detailed quote and timeline of works which enabled me to pre plan my budget and accommodation during renovating. I was particular impressed with: - The level of detail his trades provided - every finish was carefully thought out (grout lines matching up with niche heights, etc etc) - Everyone I dealt with was super polite and respectful - Additional works were not priced excessively and unreasonably, - this has happened to me in the past These guys are the best. They are the perfect cure for someone suffering from PTSD from previous renovations!

We engaged Grace Lewin construction to undergo a renovation on our Victorian cottage in Prahran. I would firstly like to commend them on their communication, as this was through COVID, I can imagine how hard it was for them to organise trades and keep building within the govt regulations however they kept us informed through the entire process. We weren't able to visit the site regularly so had to trust that the job was running smoothly. We were so impressed with the end result, their level of detail and finish is outstanding.
