Mitch Hillyear recently built a studio for us . The work man ship was great . Communication excellent . Timeline spot on. We were promised 3-4 months finished for Xmas . Hillyear Constructions were awarded a contract by us to undertake a building extension for our cottage on the Mornington Peninsula in Rye. The project was tendered to 4 local builders under a Masters Builders contract after design work undertaken by Michael Kriel of Kriel & Partners of Red Hill. The project was to refurbish an existing small bathroom completely with tiling on the floor, al walls, new bath, shower and plus building an extension to one side of the cottage to add an en-suite bathroom, with large walk in shower, toilet and large vanity unit, with tiling on the floors and walls, plus new cupboards in the main bedroom and repositioning of the walk in wardrobe to provide access to the new bathroom extension. We acquired the tiles, plus all bathroom fittings and fixtures ourselves The contract was awarded in late September 2021 with a target completion date of no later than the 18th December 2021 as we had a plan on using the cottage for Christmas 21 with family. Our original planning was to start in July 21, but we were held up by a set of problems of getting planing approval for the project with various additional requirements demanded by the building surveyors. Hillyear constructions commenced work in mid October. Overall the quality of work by the individual trades people, carpenters, electrician, plumber., tiler and eventual painter were outstanding. We finally managed to get the building permit signed off in May 22 after some rectification work in the main bathroom required at the behest of the building surveyor was completed. Nevertheless we do highly recommend HILLYEAR as the finished product looks fantastic and all our friends have marvelled at the quality of the overall work, with many commenting on how the extension inside looking as it has always been there.

Hillyear Constructions completed a like for like renovation of our 1950s cottage in Red Hill. It was a complex project that required all work to match the original weatherboard house. We were also living overseas throughout the project meaning that we were unable to to monitor the progress of the renovation in person.
