We had seen the amazing work that Anna had done with one of our neighbours and were really excited to work with her on our renovation. Anna really took the time to get to know us and understand our vision for the renovation of our townhouse. One of our key requirements was ensuring the space was practical given our small floor plan and young children. Anna was creative in designing solutions to make the most of the space, incorporating extra zones and lots of storage. Our house now feels so much bigger as a result. We are so glad that we found Anna and her team at McMillan Design. In world where there are some many choices available, Anna helped to guide us to the right colours and products and help us solve some tricky problems. She removed the stress around a renovation process and just made it EASY! What we really loved about Anna was that she listened to us and we never felt judged about our choices or preferences. But she still found a way to challenge us respectfully to ensure we made the decisions that were best for us. Anna was also conscious of our budget and keeping costs to within our cost appetite. Anna assisted us (family of 4 – almost 5) to furnish our new purchase, a 4-bedroom Federation Era home on the LNS. Moving from a 3-bedroom rental, we were finally ready to invest in quality interior design, suitable for a house of children but with defined adult spaces – and couldn’t agree on how to go about it. The brief included three indoor living areas, an outdoor entertainment space, two children’s bedrooms, a playroom and the master-bedroom – and at least one family member terrified of colour! We were overwhelmed with the idea of progressing alone (amidst Covid-19 no less) and so called in Anna. Anna brought a defined and methodical approach and understood the balance we were trying to achieve, between a home suitable for adult company and a place where we (and our young children) felt comfortable. The pieces she chose paid homage to the character of the house, but had a contemporary twist and perfectly balanced the varied tastes. Anna came to consultations fully prepared, with many ideas and graciously revisited these when they (rarely!) didn’t quite hit the mark. She managed the ordering, deliveries and furniture placement, and when an item came damaged it was switched out with no fuss. Anna was able to provide tradesmen as / when required – and organise for custom designs to suit our space and taste. Overall – working with Anna was a joy. We are so pleased with our home, and Anna managed to turn what may have been a series of stressful decisions into a smooth, relaxed and enjoyable process. We look forward to continuing to work with Anna to increasingly put our touch on our new spaces.

Anna was a pleasure to work with and delivered a beautiful result for our family. After purchasing a new home with a slightly odd floor plan, and lots of space to fill, we engaged Anna to help us design our joinery, fireplace, and assist us in selecting furnishings. Anna took the time to evaluate not just the design brief, but how we as a family would be living in the space on an every day basis. Her designs and selections kept the fact that we have a pre-schooler and dog in mind, while still delivering a beautiful product for the adults in the house! She provided several options along the way, which we very much appreciated as we were quite indecisive! We highly recommend working with Anna, and would love to again in the future.

I found Anna through social media. I hadn't worked with an interior designer before but thought she might be able to help me reconfigure room in my home. She was lovely to work with — collaborative, insightful and very helpful. She helped me see my space through new eyes, and tactfully worked through my ideas. Anna worked with the family in mind when suggesting subtle colour changes and re upholstering existing furniture to update our new home. She listened and understood what was important when working through the design process taking into account family heirlooms and special memory pieces. Anna has now given me the confidence to look outside what I would normally gravitate towards and have fun with injections of colour and design. This is especially true of our new powder room with it's fabulous Fornasetti fish wallpaper! Anna was a pleasure to deal with on our recent interior design project for our new house. I had viewed her website and liked the work she had previously done. On first speaking with her I felt immediately comfortable and we quickly set off on our design journey. Anna had great ideas and was very flexible re price points, different styles and spacing out the project to suit our budget. She seemed to intuitively understand what would or wouldn't work, be it from a design or a personal taste point of view. It seemed to me that Anna was able to adapt easily to different design styles and also to the taste of her clients. I also found that things I had forgotten about, Anna remembered. Anna and I connected via a friend at work and what she has done to my home has changed my life. I had been living in my apartment for nearly 3 years and brought my furniture from the previous owner, while it all matched, it was quite cold and I felt like I was living in someone else’s home, but paying the mortgage……. I met with Anna and shared how I’d like to change the look and feel of my dinning and sitting-room so they felt like my space and provided a warm and nurturing environment to come home to. Anna shared concepts with me and once we had agreed on the theme, she demonstrated flexibility to let me choose some pieces to complement her vision.
