We were delighted to work with Rosa (from Biotope Architecture.interiors) on the rebuild and extension of our 1850s sandstone house in central Hobart. This project was a labour of love and, thus, it was paramount to have an architect that was sympathetic to both the heritage aspects of the structure and to the design necessities of modern life. This was achieved through thoughtful and delicate considerations that yielded a result far beyond what we could’ve imagined! We are ecstatic with the final result.

Peter, from Liddington Architecture Studio took our loose brief for two units and created a thoughtful design, sensitive to site and location with excellent attention to detail in the finished drawings. He was great help and support though a protracted planning process and he supervised the build process effectively, ensuring accountability to deadlines and design. He has a collaborative nature and confident approach to his work that made him a pleasure to deal with.

At the end of last year we engaged Skookom to transform a very tired, small space into a highly functional & efficient, contemporary Espresso Bar. We had been impressed with their body of work and after our initial consultation with Elise & Ian, their calm and thorough approach filled us with confidence that our ideas could be realised. They managed to complete our project on time and worked closely with us and our designers to do bring it all within budget. Their attention to detail was second to none, overseeing all tradespeople and ensuring that everything was meticulous as if it were their own home. We have done numerous renovations both private and commercial over the years with a number of different companies here and interstate - Skookom are definitely top of their game. Thank you

I have known Daniel Lindahl and his work for many years. Over 20 years ago he designed the addition of a circular deck to a Queenslander I owned in Brisbane. The design was truly innovative including the transformation of an old stove compartment into a BBQ area. This not only looked amazing but provided protection for the BBQ & an excellent cooking area. More recently he designed a total renovation of an Art Deco apartment I have purchased in New York City. I couldn't be happier with the design which opens up the old cluttered layout into a fresh new open design. I highly recommend Daniels work & his ability to work with you on your ideas, give you exactly what you want with more... his innovation & creative eye which will set your dream home apart from the rest.
Trace of Elegance

Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars7October,2017
I couldn't recommend Tracey Griggs of Trace of elegance more highly. Not only is she an amazing designer, she is also very easy to work with, having just the right mix of professionalism and friendliness. Tracey was respectful of our vision and helped us to make our home something beautiful to look at, but also practical to live in. She taylors her choices and style to suit her client and guides rather than dictates. Tracey was recommended to us from several sources and we certainly see why, she is awesome!
Bury Kirkland Ferri
Sustainable Design Services in South Hobart, Tasmania
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars29July,2014
We engaged Bury and Kirkland to design a new kitchen in our Federation house that has undergone numerous renovations. The original kitchen space was the old "U" shape with a corner pantry (yep, had to go). Bury and Kirkland created a totally open and functional kitchen in a difficult space and totally transformed the way our whole family felt about cooking, eating and being in our living space. I finally was able to be in my kitchen looking out on our beautiful view of the Derwent River rather than feeling tucked away in the corner facing a wall. Bury and Kirkland also created a brilliant slider pantry that has great space and operates as part of the kitchen when open but neatly slides away when not in use. The creative use of timber and fresh white ensured a perfect connection between the old and the new of the house. Bury and Kirkland worked efficiently with all of the trades and kept the job perfectly on time and had as little effect on our family as possible. I would highly recommend them in kitchen design and the overall concept and feel of any room.

Benik Building
Sustainable Design Services in South Hobart, Tasmania
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars24November,2021
Benik Building did an outstanding job building our house, the advice and support prior to breaking ground really allowed for our project to go so smoothly and took a lot of the guess work out for us as my wife and I aren't up to speed with building industry terminology. Ben, Nicki and the crew at Benik are truly a professional outfit, they were instrumental in keeping us informed in the build progress, they were upfront with explaining any issue we discovered along the way and were proficient in advising various solutions to gain best outcome against budget and/or aesthetics. We were very impressed with the attention to detail, the finished product is testament to Benik Building's commitment to produce the highest grade build. We wouldn't hesitate for a second to have Benik Building again to build in the future for us, in fact we wouldn't venture past them, we have had them back for small renovations like a roof over our deck. We highly recommend Benik Building to any of our friends and family.

Tarema Cottage, Howden Owners: Jill and Emlyn Jones Project timeframes: February 2014 – July 2016 Jill and I engaged Rebecca in early 2014 to provide a full architectural service on our new build in Howden. Due to the location of the block and existing dwelling, there were a number of constraints from the outset. Rebecca worked closely with us to come up with a concept that was sympathetic to our original coastal cottage. The project was finished in October 2016, with Rebecca having professionally managed the build from concept stage to completion. There were two aspects of Rebecca’s service that we considered essential to the success of the build: Creativity and innovation: Our design brief was challenging given the limited space (footprint) for the build, the need to accommodate eldery visitors, and our desire to mix new products and building practices with salvaged materials. The end results has been a light, easy access space that has a superb character that respectfully sits beside our original coastal cottage. Both friends and visitors have commented on the relaxed feel of the building that feels far bigger than it appears from the outside. Project Management: From the start of the concept stage, through to the completion of the build, Rebecca provided sound guidance on the many decisions that needed to be made. Furthermore, she was able to translate our suggestions and ideas into manageable and compliant designs. All the documentation, compliance with changing building regulations and contract administration and coordination of the builders was handled efficiently and with minimal delays. Perhaps the most challenging aspect was liaising between ourselves as owners and the builders for tasks that we wanted close involvement (e.g. joinery). Rebecca was flexible and agile with the need to change plans as the projects evolved. In summary, Jill and I were very happy with Rebbecca Fullerton Architect and the outcome of the building produced.
