About Us
Grampians Sandstone is a boutique sandstone quarry located in the beautiful Grampians mountains in Victoria, Australia.
The quarry has been producing small quantities of magnificently colored, 'dimension' sandstone for residential building, feature stone walls, landscaping, drystone walling and paving, since Australia's pioneering days.
In an era of mass produced/manufactured stone products, over exploitation and global environmental pressures, Grampians Sandstone's owners have chosen to remain a boutique quarry, focused on preservation of this precious stone resource.
In keeping with this preservation philosophy, the extensive natural bush area surrounding the quarry has been permanently covenanted to the not for profit 'Trust for Nature' organisation, meaning that all resident native flora and fauna must be rigorously protected and preserved. A successful captive breeding program of endangered Australian native animal species has also been instituted and continues to flourish.
Demand for Grampians Sandstone is not driven by slick marketing campaigns - but by the quality, beauty and durability of our Australian sandstone. Anyone wanting something absolutely unique for their or their client’s project, anywhere in the world, should take the time to walk through the beautiful images on our website.
