Myaree Ceramics

I would like to share my experience with my purchase from Myaree Ceramics. I have selected my tiles months in advance, paid for the tiles in August and informed Myaree Ceramics in October of a delivery time in November. Myaree Ceramics have assured me throughout the entire process that they will keep the tiles on stock for me as they are aware that a re-order in case of stock run out could add months. (The tiles come from Italy). A day prior to scheduled delivery date in November, Myaree Ceramics informed me that there is no stock and they did not know why. I was very surprised at this as I have already paid for it and have been told that stock is kept for me. I have specifically asked when I emailed in October if stock was available. This put me in a difficult situation as tiling was the last job prior to new house completion. One would imagine that Myaree Ceramics would do its best to find out why and provide an explanation. However, they were not prompt in this and I only got the information after many follow up calls and emails. I was told that their commercial department has sold my tiles to another customer thinking that stock would arrive in time for my delivery and they did not inform the sales department. The next shipment will only arrive two weeks later and require another week of customs clearance. This has resulted in 3 weeks delays on my project, which is the last job prior to house handover from my builder. Fortunately, my tiler was very accommodating and moved his jobs so he could still complete my job prior to him going on holidays. I find this situation totally unacceptable as I have now incurred delays to my house build whilst Myaree Ceramics have made an opportune profit on another sale. Other than apologies and an offer to waive the $150 delivery fee (which I have already paid), Myaree Ceramics have not offered any other compensation and declined my request for a discount on my order. They claimed that the cost of tiles have gone up since the purchase and hence a discount is not possible. I do not find this a reasonable explanation as they have sold my tiles (which was fully paid) to another customer to make additional profit. I also found out that the same thing happened to my friend who bought from Myaree Ceramics. It seems that it is Myaree Ceramics’ business model to play around with stock and put customers in jeopardy with delivery timing. So be aware if you want to buy from them. If the company was customer focused, they would have made more effort to contact me and discuss. However, there has been no further communication from them since the tiles were delivered. So it seems like they just take chances and hope that customers do not complain.
