Luv yr ideas as I'm doing my kitchen exactly the same colours and same natural oak as a contrast except I have existing black granite bench tops ,so doing large drawers in a matt black!! Just getting quotes now! Have u had yrs done yet? I'd luv 2 c it!

Hi Magic M new kitchens have more drawers than doors. They also have soft closers on doors and drawers, as well as full extension runners on the drawers. Your kitchen is therefore immediately showing its age because it clearly has more doors and is probably missing the other elements I mentioned that are considered standard in today's functional kitchen. So it really comes down to your budget. If you have the budget I would replace the whole kitchen with cabinets (more drawers than doors) with a shaker style profile. Custom cabinets to the ceiling. Manmade stone such as Caesarstone benchtops. You could think about the same stone on the splashback as subway tiles are on their way out. If your budget doesn't run to a new kitchen then the Annie Sloan chalk paint as suggested is a good option on both the existing cabinets and the new add on ones. Any of your suggested colours in muted tones would work.

in order to avoid compromising the original style i suggest investing in a cabinetmaker to rebuild the existing cabinets by removing only the front panels of the voids and all the random doors, rebuild the spaces with new full height cabinets on either side of the panel backing the vanity and installing new tall cabinets (same height as fridge space) with adjustable internal shelves, including a dedicated shelf for a suitably sized microwave (and a coffee maker and/or mixer etc) with power points and then adding full height white doors to match the kitchen cabinets..the original doors being used for internal shelves) The panel on the left of the fridge appears to conceal a support column so that needs to be retained, the panel on the back of the vanity and the wall to the ceiling also retains the veneer....my very poor pictures attempt to display before and after but in order to highlight the shapes i needed to use wrong colours and hope you see the idea...unfortunately custom cabinetry won't be cheap but anything less wouldn't be precise enough

I have a Matt black anti fingerprint kitchen and I love it! It is so easy to clean. And always looks smooth and velvety. I just wipe it with a sponge and it’s clean. I have not looked back!
