About Us

Against the Grain handcraft exceptional custom timber windows, doors and gates. Established in 2009 by master craftsman David Spees, Against the Grain has a reputation for both excellence in workmanship and professional service. Our made to measure windows, doors and gates feature traditional joinery with choice of speciality hardwoods and energy efficient double glazing. A skilled team design, manufacture and supply across NSW from our factory and showroom in the Blue Mountains village of Katoomba. Against the Grain use only Forest Stewardship Council and Rainforest Alliance certified timbers. We are proud members of the Window & Door Industry Council ensuring all projects are compliant with current Australian Window and Door Standards and Codes.
