Spanish Mission transformed into high-quality family home
Comments (13)I love the transformations. Design is subjective, be kind and considerate with your words. Bringing Spanish design into Oz spark a big debate anyway. Rejoicing and preferring foreign style of architecture over another is fine. What not fine is to speak negatively of it like its a heritage item. Maybe its a lesson so none of us post any specific style of architecture ever again? Remind me if a client wants to replace his Bali Style house in Surfers to replace with Hampton, I should just whack his head and walk away....See MoreContemporary kitchen & pantry transformation in a 1912 Federation home
Comments (25)Seriously? Lack of understanding of the authentic original period architecture. This is neither fish nor fowl and so overcooked. Less is more people. The best results in renovations/refit scenarios are always those that are inherently sympathetic, taking cues from the existing space or original style, and tying in. It can be successful taken either in a contemporary direction or restoring accurately, BUT regardless of what it is it needs to be BALANCED, rather than the mess like here which is a case of arbitrarily applying an excess of random foreign design and style elements. People (including interior pros) need to stop trying to be "on trend" for the sake of it or thinking we must have "features' or 'hero' elements. Sometimes the best and most clever architectural results are those that promote LESS attention to it......but enduring and classic outcomes requires subtlety and capacity to confidently filter stylistic choices without being influenced by the noise of the latest interiors magazine or Pinterest post....See More"90s to Now" Kitchen & Bathroom Transformation
Comments (14)It still seems like every single 'transformation' has the before pictures taken on a dark day with the lights off , and stuff spread everywhere , and the after with lots of white and 20 lights turned on -- newsflash -- it will look lighter and airier ! It looks like quite an 'intelligent' upgrade , utilising the existing doors and mouldings and things , with modern cabinets and fittings and the like ( the entry is too white IMO , and in fact they could all use a bit of colour highlights IMO ) but keep it honest , and shoot the 'after' photos under the same conditions as the 'before' . . . . . . . ....See MoreBefore & After: A kitchen transformed
Comments (10)Thanks for your questions. Because the fridge and wall oven are separated by the laminate joinery and there is a decent gap between the joinery and the fridge, it's not a problem. Re the extractor above the cook top, the kitchen hadn't quite been finished in the previous photos. Here you go......See MoreKitchen Trends
