Comments (1)After 20 years lighting sales and domestic consultation the only advice is to make them equal distance from each other and from the edges of the island. You dont mention anything in or on the island like a sink so if its just work space make sure they arent to low that they create distinct spots of light, the idea is to provide balanced light along the whole benchtop. Also the fact they are such a solid construction they will provide a definite "zoning" effect, you could possibly raise the middle 1 to give a variation to the theme but after all its your home do what YOU want...See MoreRug and pendant light tips?
Comments (7)Hi Sarah, I would go with a large rug in the lounge- if you can get all four feet of the couch on it as well as the tv cabinet it will create a clear ‘lounge room’ zone. This will be a costly rug due to the size. You can choose a piece of carpet that you like and have it cut and edged to create a customised rug if your own. Adding a large pendant over the dining table will mark this as another separate zone. I am personally not a fan of pendant lights over the island, I just think they add clutter to the space and have been overused - I’m sure many will disagree. You can have another row of down lights over the island if you need task lighting there and add led lighting under your overheads at the back as an accent light that will create a soft wash of light down the splash back. Finally ( even though you didn’t ask!) the white powerpoint to the front of your island stands out agains the black and works against it, swapping this for a black outlet will help make it disappear....See MoreHelp! Comments (4)I would remove the globe, then with hot soapy water wash the entire outside of glass pendant and if your hand can fit, the inside as well. Maybe even a quick spray of a cleaning product like Ajax spray and wipe to get the grease off the outside, before wiping over the entire glass pendant. Obviously you will need a ladder to stand on to reach pendant safely. Make sure the glass is room temperature, not hot....See MoreBloom Collections
