Powerpoints

Hi, gorgeous kitchen. I'm doing a similar kind of thing in my house but am stumped as to where to put the power points. If you get a chance can you share where you located them in this kitchen design? Thanks!

Hello. Yes that can be a challenge with the windows, stone/concrete benchtops and even glass splashbacks. In this particular case there is room on the left hand wall (wall with fridge) but even then you have to space it just right given the cavity sliding door.
We have put a pullout powerpoint in the cabinetry panel where the coffee machine and microwave is. There is usually enough space behind a coffee machine or microwave.
Alternatively there are a number of benchtop powerpoints now available that either pullout or pop up.
Sometimes it is just easier to strategically place a bit of framed wall at one end thus decreasing the window a little , and put the power points in there.

Great job- really fantastic. A tip for anyone in the process of renovating a bathroom: I used Blake and Taylor chalk paint with a couple of sealer coats to paint a laminex vanity in our bathroom- and it looks great. The house is built with a majority of recycled items (windows, doors, wainscoting, etc), will look like a converted shearing shed from the outside and will have a distinctive farm/rustic/re-purposed feel on the inside. Colour scheme is warm grey, navy blue & timber with black used in tapware, door handles, etc.

If you are happy with the walls as they are , its a huge cost and effort to just hide some power points . To a small degree , it will also depend what you want to run . Really power hungry appliances ( 2000 watt heaters etc ) may need new wiring , rather than just hooking into the existing wiring . But like bigreader , I'd look at coduit , extension leads ( if lower power use ) and even multi-boxes -- I have used individually switched brushed stainless 4 way ones ( about $80 instead of $10 beige unswitched ones ) and even mounted them to the wall -- they look quite classy and purposeful . And if all else fails , using furniture to hide leads is a good idea .

If study is the primary use, place desk where optimal work arrangement. When I was doing a lot of zoom meetings, I needed to face the door so I could see and communicate with hand signals to the family as they popped by. So for that I would have my back to fireplace. My window faces east so morning sun was a killer with desk under window. What I wouldn’t like is to be tucked into corner, as you currently have, with no view either into house or out window from the desk. But that is me not your husband
