We have just moved into a new house and are living room is looking really bare. We are wanting to add some more furniture - like chairs and a floor carpet, but I'm really at a loss!! Any thoughts or advice is appreciated.
A rug is practical if you have children (for playing on the floor) and adds texture and warmth to the space. I would put one in front of the sofa. Also the window coverings look a bit bare. I did a Pinterest search using the keys words "blinds with curtains" for my place recently - check out what you can do for your windows by using curtains hung high over the windows with the existing blinds sitting underneath. Can totally change the feel of a room!
I definitely agree with curtains to add some texture & warmth to the space. Some more barstools on the breakfast bar on this side maybe. A plant, statue, floor lamp or floor cushions next to the ent unit.
Behind the lounge looks a bit bare but I think once you added curtains & cushions/ a throw on the lounge it will balance it nicely.
