Just add a beautiful throw over that end of the couch. I think wait until you have the other items and try not to crowd the area. Let each piece have some breathing room so you can appreciate them. Also move the bakers unit over to right just a bit to centre it on that section between the bench & couch.

One larger or two side by side consoles with sort pieces to complement the art? You could have someone create some sort of shelving, stack some books similar to below pic and sub the couch for a comfy reading chair? If you're into wine/any sort of alcohol really you could create a wine wall ...get a cabinetmaker or be creative at Ikea to recreate something similar to the below and still keep your artwork as a feature. If that are behind your couch is a main thoroughfare to getting to an outdoor area I wouldn't completely obstruct the entire area. Hello Paige, what a wonderful problem to have: too much space! As someone else said the table in the middle of the room may make the traffic way from dtr's bedroom through the glass doors a zig zag so the table over towards the wall is good. Stools are a good idea too. You could go with something timber and make or find coloured cushions for them and the dining chairs too. Different colours for differ4ent seasons! also I thought a desk and book shelves on the opposite wall would be great for homework, day to day household running and reading place would be lovely. You will be able to see the dtr's screen from the kitchen which is a great idea. Maybe a comfy chair will fit in one corner to encourage reading too. I get what you are saying about a rug for the floor. It would help to define the area but wait until drt eats more cleanly! I know I have been there done that!! No windows makes it a bit dark for plants maybe but a few more lights: along under shelving, pendents over the table will help. Cheers Margot OH and please show us what you do!
