Our K9 rescue jack Russell [80%?] x Chihuaha [ 20%? is named Bossman, "cos he not only rules our home, but our whole lives! We went from Belgian Shepherd to this guy who thinks he's a Great Dane. We love him to bits, and I'll never again laugh at small dogs who wear coats in winter. Will never again decry anyone who's dog has decided to sleep cuddled up in the bed with them. Guess y'all have an idea of where I'm at regarding dogs now.

We have 2 jackRussellX s , Jeannie, they're said to have little dog-big dog syndrome, as you need an aerodrome to hold their personality.

Jeanne, I'm glad you liked my pooch! He is a Giant Alaskan Malamute and weighs 163 lbs and 36" high at his shoulder, but he is truly a gentle, loving creature. Here he is with my granddaughter and as a puppy. Our vet guessed he would be almost 7' tall if he was up on his hind legs, but he has been well trained and is never allowed to jump up, so we have no idea how tall he is. Giant whites are not common, so we waited three years for one. He is very famous here in our small town in Idaho and has his picture taken constantly every time we go out in public. He poses like a cheesy model and smiles. I suspect he will be wanting his own Facebook page soon. According to my recently divorced 47 year old son who walks him, he is quite the "babe magnet".

I wish I had a dog! If I did it would be a food based name, my best friend's dogs are called Pancake and Caramel and they are adorable.

This is making me want to get one immediately!! They are all sooooo beautiful! Our dog was named Priscilla she was a beautiful Labrador. My dad was a huge Elvis fan! We also had a cat named Kinky.

Thanks for the info. I've always loved big dogs [small person syndrome - love big cars too], but too many physical problems to exercise one now. Hence our small dog who also has a big dog personality. Until I saw Justice I'd always favoured Irish Wolfhounds which could cope with our climate. Don't think a Malamute would enjoy our hot climate, but Idaho sounds perfect for him [ too cold for me though ].

Leroy is our cat's name. He's a little beautie, but oh so noisy when he wants something.

We have 2 whippets. She is Zola because she runs like Zola Budd and he is Bruno for no reason at all. He howls if she is not around. She is very smart and he is just Bruno!

We have Willow the willowy one and Forest the furry, because I've always wanted to say "run Forest run"

We have two maltese/mini poodle Xbreeds with big dog attitude from the same litter, she is Zzazza and her brother is Oscar. Both live up to their names with dramatic flair!! These two are ideal as house pooches as they do not spread fur all over the house, little dogs do tiny barker's eggs;-)

My cat is called Mr Cat.. so when I go outside to call him I can call "cat" and no one thinks I am calling for a child LOL.. and he knows he is a CAT LOL. Mr Cat

Tessa and Josie were our golden retrievers, sisters, sadly both gone now; we have two black and white Border Collies, Mollie (Molly the Collie) and Remus (I tried to talk my husband into a third dog, so that we could call him Romulus, but no luck... [yet]). Three cats , Polka Dot (B & W), Maximus (nothing at all like a gladiator....), also Black and white, and Merlin (because he seems to disappear and reappear quite magically), also black and white.

Do horses count ? We have Nemo (he came to us with that name), Bella and Edward (and no, the last two are definitely NOT named after the Twilight characters!!!).

Chook, I used to read Rosemary Sutcliffe's books when I was young, they are a fantastic way of introducing children to Roman - British history. Once you've got the bug... I also love Asterix and Obelix - I might call my next cats after them !

If I actually had a cat, I'd be very tempted to name it Claude Debussy. I'm sure it's probably a popular cat name but I still find it amusing regardless.
