Kitchen splashback advice
Comments (15)I have just chosen my kitchen and family room colours and decided to stick to white floors, cabinetry, green glass painted white splashback which gives a lovely soft green colour and shitake ceaserstone benchtops. Once this is installed I will bring in colour with vases and accessories. Main concern is any colour you bring in will date quickly and you will get tired of it. if you keep it simple you can dress it up. It is a huge decision so chose carefully, your kitchen specialist is always a good guide, listen to their suggestions. Good luck....See MoreTiled kitchen splashback advice
Comments (14)My two cents worth would be to extend the tiles to cover everything below the canopy of the extractor (could go higher but that would be the minimum) and use that as your level on the other wall. So you ignore the curved glass (I assume that that's kind of the point of being transparent) and go with the straight edges of the tiles. You certainly wouldn't want a funny little segment of painted wall below the curved glass – it will look awkward and be very difficult to keep clean. My remaining concern is – have you already installed the rangehood or can it be easily taken back down to allow the tiler to do a really good, neat job and then the rangehood can be installed nice and tight against the tiles?...See MoreKitchen splashback? Comments (36)Forget subways, really overdone & can look so cheap. The more grout you have the more cleaning you'll have to do. It collects grime ( known in the trade as 'grotty grout' ) & is hard to maintain. Go for glass, the possibilities are endless, from sophisticated plain to funky patterned. Easy care & long lasting. Personalise your space, it looks really fab, love all your drawers, so practical ! Would love to see the end result. Please post pics....See MoreLooking for kitchen splashback ideas
Comments (7)If he's on a tight budget , why not get a dozen Subway tiles in a colour he likes , and lay them horizontally around that kick up ? Cheap as chips , as colourful as you want , easy for a DIYer . And lets face it , if you are getting splashes above that level , you are probably doing something wrong -- 100mm should catch 90-odd % of the splatters . You are probably going to strike problems with the power points getting food and fat and steam in them too . And talking about colour , maybe get a jug and toaster in the same or complimentary colours -- we know England is grey , but that's just being ridiculous haha !...See Morekandicewilliams
