I once picked what I thought was a soft orange red for our bed room. It turned out to be Home Depot orange. As my husband refuses to paint a room more often than every 5 years, we lived with that orange. At least I was mostly there with the lights out, and it did make our north facing bedroom more cheerful. But for some reason we found ourselves at Home Depot much more often then!

Although, I love soft, pale, barely there yellow, the canary (egg yolk as I call it) yellow is just too garish. I do like the mint green and I'm finding lots of sites that are showing myriad options in décor for it now. I imagine it's one of those "get it while it's hot" colors but it's a beautiful one to me. I've used the hot pink in much smaller doses for my daughter's room when she was little but I doubt I would use it in large quantities. I also deal with blue best in small doses.

I think the problem is that you have two different coloured materials abutting each other without enough contrast. The coping around the pool edge looks like a nice quality terracotta paver with a bull-nose edge in a sandstone colour. The rest of the paving looks like a standard terracotta brick paver. As you are on a budget I would keep the bull-nose edge material and replace the brick pavers with a large format concrete paver in a grey similar to the existing mortar colour. Replacing the bull-nose pavers is labour intensive and expensive. This will provide good contrast, visually tie in with the edge, and provide a cost effective, non slip surface. Ok. I am a little confused where to head. I need a future vision for all components of house and fence to make the little decisions. The pool blue tiles I love but not sure how to tie in with all the fences internal and external and with house especially if this green goes anywhere else ? But I have bought a " green paint" dulux scott's pine very similar to what was there but it is quite wet here so I stumbled on a photo edit option and have done an unskilled mock up on a photo and taken a photo of it in the meantime (as I couldnt work out how to save it!!! ) But although the green is lighter than actual paint I have bought I can actually (ok it has taken me a while) see how the green would work. But if I do that what would I do will both my green fence and my maroon fence from the outside. I also tried to track down junior navy and couldnt find that colour anywhere? I have slate in need of a little tlc inside front door which I love. I know for some people they find it hard to clean or dated. Its individual and I am beginning to subscribe to conscious consumerism. Lets be clear my house has had renos from some different eras so was and is going to be earthy but eclectic and individual in decorating style.
