I think it depends a whole lot on lifestyle and cooking habits., not to mention the size of the scullery. I've got a butlers pantry, with sink, but aside from rinsing the odd veggie there, I hardly ever use the sink. I don't do prep there because I'd rather be out in the much more spacious kitchen: the pantry provides storage but it doesnt have the working counterspace that the kitchen does, and it's an inconvenient distance from oven and range. I know plenty of people who do use the scullery as the others have described, but mine is essentially a nice large pantry, sink optional.

A darker benchtop in the scullery would look fine and more importantly suit your lifestyle. Go for it.

i would have a 750mm cavity slider between laundry and scullery for better hygiene and noise control but location of all sinks, stove and fridge depends on how you plan to use the kitchen, island and scullery and do you want a wall oven, wide cooktop, built in microwave etc will you use appliances in the scullery or kitchen, are the cooks right or left handed as that will help decide best location for DW but my first suggestion would be to move the sliding door in the laundry to allow for wall to wall tall storage for cleaning appliances ironing board etc and there's space for front loading wm and floor mounted condensor dryer, drop in laundry tub in a wide counter and underbench space for a tall laundry basket and wall cabinets for cleaning products and a hanging rod but the laundry and scullery counters could be deeper for more useful work surface and neater under counter wm space and i would lose the small return wall in the scullery as it cramps the work space

@Simonne Moretta Option 1 is my pick, if it has a window in the end so it is not dark. Pantries work best if the shelving is not too deep as can happen in the corner walk-in arrangement, otherwise they need some expensive storage mechanisms to make the space work well. This also leaves a nice long work area to the back for the scullery, which can offer a good amount of storage that is deeper, or maybe a section of the scullery area could be a full high storage cupboard if needed also. Generally this long thin arrangement is going to serve you better for work area and storage.
