My poor sketch skills do not show enough detail, apologies. The main kitchen will have a single sink and the fridge will be on the wall that leads into the scullery. The scullery will have a window along the outside wall so should not be dark, again my attempt to show this in my sketch was not clear.

Where will you keep your everyday food, eg: cereal, bread, oil for cooking, spices etc. in the kitchen or will everything be prepared and kept in the scullery.
I would have the wall of open shelving, easy accessible.

Food as you have mentioned would be in the scullery/ pantry not in main kitchen.

Simonne, so if you are cooking something on the cook top, does this mean you will have to walk into the scullery every time you require oil, spices, or milk/cream from the fridge?
I think a scullery is a waste of space and energy. You could have a smaller pantry with sink and sliding doors in the kitchen, and have a larger kitchen. This can hide dirty dishes and appliances etc.
A kitchen is a work space for preparing food, and interacting with family and friends, if it is not a practical space, it will not work effectively.

Think about kids and yourself tripping over each other to get cereal, bread, jam etc. in mornings, making school lunches etc. that scullery pantry will be Very busy.

@Simonne Moretta Option 1 is my pick, if it has a window in the end so it is not dark. Pantries work best if the shelving is not too deep as can happen in the corner walk-in arrangement, otherwise they need some expensive storage mechanisms to make the space work well. This also leaves a nice long work area to the back for the scullery, which can offer a good amount of storage that is deeper, or maybe a section of the scullery area could be a full high storage cupboard if needed also. Generally this long thin arrangement is going to serve you better for work area and storage.

We are having option 1, although we also have a ‘quick grab pantry’ a 600mm wide pantry in the main kitchen for easy access to every day items...not sure how big your kitchen is though so may not be workable.

As a kitchen is complete custom made space, your idea and requirement is the most importing thing that designers need to consider about, a designer's work is to make your idea perfect and come to real.
