To me a few magnets etc looks more homely.

I don't want a kitchen that looks like a magazine picture all the time, I like them to look lived in.

A few magnets might be okay (I have one for the vet clinic, one for the electricity company, and one to remind me of my last trip). I'm afraid I couldn't live with the one in the photo, though. Way too much for me.

a few is ok ie..shopping list etc that fridge in the photo would drive me nannas..

Magnets can add quirkiness to a fridge and contribute to a whimsical kitchen style. If you like them, that's all that matters. I know that when I go visiting, I am attracted to family photo displays. Likewise, if there are photos, children's drawings or funny sayings on fridge magnets. I can't help but take an interest; it must be the curiosity in me. They can be conversation starters. It's nice to find out about people that way, where they have been, what they've been doing....

I think that they make the kitchen look very messy on the fridge. Perhaps find some other way of displaying your memories. Maybe in a picture frame that has a magnetic backing board and you could hang it on the wall somewhere that you see. Make it a collage. Laundry would be good.

I would never use stickers and usually I am a no fuss, no mess person but at the moment my fridge is full of crap held on by magnets. I think you can have a few items and it looks great but like my fridge now it is too much and I need to have a clean out .... it is personal choice. You should decide what works for you.

Hi I am not a big fan, if you like to have memories and keepsakes perhaps start a cork board gallery or frame individual things of interest. :)

It's entirely up to you. If you like them being there, and you're comfortable then leave them. After all it's your fridge and your home :)

Ok I will join in as I am a magnet nut. All my family and friends will confirm this. I collect a magnet from every town, city, country I travel to so it's about a memory and triggers discussions of our travels. I don't do photos as I have all these in frames around my walls. Do what feels right and makes you happy

Magnets are a bit kitsch but they have their uses such as hiding dents in the fridge! Just make sure you keep the number down and as William Morris said they should only be there if they are either beautiful or functional .[Hopefully both} I have been magnet free for 5 years and now have a couple to remind me of functions in my busy life. Each to their own really!

I've lasted two years with my new fridge/freezer and no magnets, love it! Thought I'd miss the magnets but no way. A friend has recently got a new fridge and she has purchased a magnetic white board to hang in the kitchen with her world travels souvenir magnets, which is a great compromise I think.

I just don't understand how the modern day fridge in a kitchen became a notice board or white board. Personally it looks really messy to me.

everyone is different and therefore the answers will be different for each person. Personally I like things clear and don't have any on my fridge but I love the image you put up it says so much about the owner. So if your personality suits having things all over the fridge - I say go for it because that will suit the rest of your house because that's your personality :)

Fridge magnets are the BEST holiday souvenirs. Very proud I got this fella back in one piece.

In my old kitchen I had my fridge covered in magnets and all sort of ephemera but I have just had a new kitchen installed and my fridge is completely magnet-free and I love it!

On the man shed beer fridge..it's magnet city. Main kitchen fridge, no way! Esp when they hold up bills or slips of paper that always fall off every time you open the fridge or walk past.
