Where to put internal Staircase?

Hello all, we would like to put an internal staircase/front entry in between the garage and flat. The flat will be used as a rumpus but would still like it separate without the stairs in the middle of it. We would also like to extend the master bedroom into the existing upper floor entry so was thinking the lounge could be extended into the top floor rumpus. I am happy to regig all the family kitchen also thinking of putting it where bedroom four is and placing bed four behind new lounge at back of rumpus. The front of the garage is 8 metres wide. Any ideas?

here's a rough draft of what i think you want but we'll need 1. the measurements of all the rooms and 2. the ceiling height of the garage 3. where is north 4. are the laundry and small bedrooms higher or lower than the kitchen and lots of other details to make any real suggestions

this variation doesn't change the upstairs access to the front verandah and allows for direct access from the new internal stairs to the new kitchen but accurate measurements could encourage more suggestions

The CCTV solution is nice technological fix but why not avoid the inevitable issue of your box gutter failing and redesign the roof? Without having the plans, elevations and levels I would suggest that falling the roof away from the viewer in your image would allow you to collect the roof water on the (western??) side. There are ways to hide a gutter without hiding it inside your building and I personally think that one or two elegantly detailed downpipes can add to the quality of a building, why hide the obvious need to get water off a roof? Also, I would be very surprised if your architect doesn't already have a solution to this, it is a basic requirement of design.

We have purchased a property which has its front door under the carport on the side of the house. We would like to put in another door at the front of the property without impeding too much on the internal footprint of the living as the door at this stage would open straight into our living area. Hi AndrewJason, I love cavity sliders. they are there when you want them but not visible when you need the space open. Having said that they cost more, take a bit of wreckage to set up and in you WA case you will be wrecking brick walls to put them in which might be a stretch of mess too far. BUT you will need to weigh up if they are worth it in the end. I do not think the build will be too bulky in the kitchen/dining because it will be superbly practical on both sides and it maybe just a matter of what you are used to. Not sure about "Average Joe...…" we are all good at somethings, mine is plans, function, practicality, solar. Yours might be brain surgery, empathy for unwell folks, kinda or you make the best seafood lasagne in the world... we are all needed to make for a great world: and it really is that!!! Good luck with your splendid home: I think it is beautiful. And PS if you do make the best seafood anything I better have your address....!!!!!!! MK

Thanks heaps for taking the time to do these plans. The first one is almost spot on with what i came up with. I just wasn't sure of the flow with the kitchen dining area.
