I think that you have too many small pieces of furniture would like to see a wall with a long desk and shelving, better work space and storage the arm chair can be re positioned to fit cheers

Cute space! I agree that it could benefit from having a larger piece of furniture - would suggest removing the bureau and replacing with a wall mounted piece of wood that you could use as a desk along the picture wall.

agree minteddesignco, as dangerfieldoo is trying to work with a small budget, the easiest cheapest way to improve the space is to get a piece of laminated timber from Bunnings (they come in different sizes) to make this into a desk under the windows by fixing two pieces o timber onto the wall on either end and then placing and fixing the laminated bench top onto these. Floating shelves above this with photos and a mirror. Plus a good reading lamp for use at the desk and lounging back into the arm chair, using the existing power point. I wouldn't add any floor rug into that small space as it would make moving desk chair etc difficult. Perhaps as suggested above you could even paint one of the walls a different colour. cheers

How sad to see this, sorry is such a simple word, for those that put themselves out there for others opinions, I think are very brave, but.... our opinions need to be offered so as not to offend. I do agree that there was an offensive comment, not intended but badly expressed. So easy to fix but was avoided, sad

i like what you have done ,love the chair and footstool but i dont think the desk is right ,maybe a lamp table with a small mirror above and nothing else you don't want to over clutter ,not everyone has the budget for complete remodels

Dangerfield oo. I like what you have done with the room, and would only add a rug to the floor for a cosy feel. I think some times people can get carried away with their comments, and don't realise that they can be perceived as hurtful. Enjoy your room.

I love the wing chair and the wine rack! Maybe an art work above the wine rack? If you have a standing lamp it could fit behind the chair for good light when reading at night?

In regards to your question for a rug - maybe a small round rug would work? Although you are working with lots of earthy colours a brightly coloured one might be nice - lime green or orange. But not really necessary, it already looks very cosy #wishihadthatspace

I think a small rug with an autumn tone pattern would blend in well with the green chair and brown flooring and would give the room a cosy feeling. As you have several small framed photos on one wall, you could have your favourite photo enlarged, framed and placed on the opposite wall to bring some balance to the room. As you mentioned, a rectangular mirror on the opposite wall would also be suitable.
