Kitchen splashback help !
Comments (20)Classic is just that... classic but I do realize that each has an opinion based on personal preference, you can add to classic by using colour in your appliances which can be changed out when and if that colour becomes dated at a lot less cost than splashbacks, have a good look around on the internet you will see what I mean, that's fine each to our own and all hints here are aimed to help....See MoreSplashback help!
Comments (26)Hi Kate, I have to agree with you, I absolutely hate that mint green so I feel for you that it just doesn't suit your colour scheme irrespective of how much others suggest this green and blue might go together, personally I don't like blue either so I might not be much help there ha-ha I do think the suggestion of placing a mirror over the splashback could be the best option so that you don't run the risk of damaging any part of the kitchen trying to remove it and I think a mirror could look amazing, catch the light and obviously make the room look bigger too. Good luck. Barbara...See MoreSplashback help!
Comments (9)I think it looks fabulous as is, BUT I know what it's like to have something in your mind and so anything else falls short. You asked for that and I gather they said they could do it, and then in the end they haven't, so you're not being unreasonable to ask that they re-do it according to what you had agreed on. I do think it looks great, though I suspect every time you look at it (many times a day!), it will bother you each and every time! And any discount you've had won't diminish that daily reminder! ; D We had our timber floors sanded and varnished and the tradesman (who was recommended) sub-contracted the job to some very shoddy flooring guys. The job they did was terrible, the tradesman was apologetic when he saw them and offered to not charge us at all (which my husband was tempted by!), but thank goodness I realised that I was going to have to live with those floors and I simply wanted them to look great so they came back, re-did them and we still paid full price. There's the odd area that's not great that bothers me, but I'm so glad I pushed to have it done to the standard I expected. You may experience the same?! Good luck!...See MoreChoosing the Dulux paint colour for cabinets and splashback. Help!
Comments (35)Lea, I got them from the Dulux website. I screenshot certain colours, then posted them to thread. Of course, it’s always best to get sample pots and try your selections where you will be using them...need to see them in all lighting and in combination with each other. You may want to speak with a colour consultant at a good paint shop; they are very knowledgeable and helpful. Also, lots of great articles on Houzz. You can can also post a Design Dilemna if you would like the wider community to mull over your colour palette and offer advice! Cheers....See More- 9 years ago
