I need whatever I use to be at least 15mm thick so that there aren't any toehold edges between the lattice and the surround frame. Yes we thought of painting the fence and perhaps contrast bamboo in front. Mini orb I don't think would work because the corrugations leave gaps between it and the lattice.

Hi Dinusha, the answer very much depends on what purpose and look you have in mind. I’d agree with dreamer, incorporating your roof colour would be a good choice. There are so many options, from a garden bed if you simply want to delineate your boundary to person height metal options for privacy and to keep an escape artist dog safely enclosed, should that be a consideration. Colour sometimes shows differently on individual screens, but a merbau timber fence could look good too. Or if you’re looking to introduce a new colour, navy perhaps, many retailers have samples or return policies that would allow you to see irl what works for you and your budget. I’m not a fan of brick and I like the hip height paling below, although not that colour for your home, but it’s your space. Go with what speaks to you.

Is that your house , or are you just wanting to know that colour ? Because you do realise that picture has something like 7 different tones , so you could match any of them , or go a slightly different tone , and it wouldn't matter IMO .

I'd stain it charcoal on the first sunnyish day -- that'll take the 'edge' off the look . As a quick fix , I'd get half a dozen conifers , if you can get 1.5 to 2 metre tall , plant them 2 metres apart . That will soften the look almost immediately -- then you can plant your creeper or baby trees or flaxes and bamboos , or whatever you like , but the quick fix will soften things for the mext few years until 'plan B' takes over .
