Hey Paul, check out a place called ecooutdoors.com.au for inspiration. I'm not sure if they're up your way but I'm sure you could get materials shipped. They have such a beautiful store with brilliant ideas. I'd be considering a stone that is cool under foot on hot Brisbane days and at least 30mm thick. You have an oval-ish shaped pool so you might consider a small coping stone to replace the brick then move on to a larger stone instead of the dated pebble, maybe a 'cush' limestone or go a bit glam and do a herringbone pattern with the right stone. Good Luck.

Nice pool, but a shame that your neighbours can see you through the fence, and therefore, you get no privacy. If you were wanting privacy of some kind, bamboo, tikka plant or even lovely conifers will look quite nice, also as a backdrop to your pool area. I would also place a beautiful urn or two strategically near the pool, to add character and colour. I would finally add an order of large stones for good effect.

ok. certainly a dark blue violet is the trend as blue violet, like green and yellow are colours that recede and create more space. Another creative option for you is to unite the 2 timbers colours. firstly add pots in the fence colour around your pool with tall plants that will link to the background trees or contrast them i.e. with red flowers / leaves. 2nd, paint some of the fence plants to the dame stain of the decking and others in grey stains. this look will create a natural decor style. Simple, easy and different. Have fun!

That looks like star jasmine ( Trachelospermum jasminoides), but I kind of wish they had used the tricolour version which is much more interesting in shady spots owing to it's cream and pink colouration. Star Jamine is used very commonly in landscaping because it is both fast growing and unfussy about the light conditions. As long as you have about 4hrs of direct sunlight a day or more it will be happy.
