Comments (19)in order to avoid compromising the original style i suggest investing in a cabinetmaker to rebuild the existing cabinets by removing only the front panels of the voids and all the random doors, rebuild the spaces with new full height cabinets on either side of the panel backing the vanity and installing new tall cabinets (same height as fridge space) with adjustable internal shelves, including a dedicated shelf for a suitably sized microwave (and a coffee maker and/or mixer etc) with power points and then adding full height white doors to match the kitchen cabinets..the original doors being used for internal shelves) The panel on the left of the fridge appears to conceal a support column so that needs to be retained, the panel on the back of the vanity and the wall to the ceiling also retains the veneer....my very poor pictures attempt to display before and after but in order to highlight the shapes i needed to use wrong colours and hope you see the idea...unfortunately custom cabinetry won't be cheap but anything less wouldn't be precise enough...See MoreCirca Taps - are they practical?
Comments (4)I've wondered about the practicality of that style too. Our first house had 70's plastic taps with gentle curves that were troublesome enough, progressed to the four pronged style which was easy to turn.... and turn and turn, now have levers, and the only improvement on those I can imagine is motion or voice activated. Perhaps those circle taps have a non-slip surface treatment which helps with grip? Though if that's the case does the surface also hold dirt and soap scum. It looks like an illogical design for the purpose but I'm interested to hear from people with personal experience with them too....See MoreWet room layout option
Comments (2)The wet room concept would work wonderfully. As mentioned the wood windows would be a concern regarding moisture from shower spray. But if you dry them off after each time a person showers, then that is the compromise. And depending on actual measurements your bath might need wiping down as well after each shower....See More- 8 years ago
