New kitchen after water damage
Comments (12)Under sink drawers are a wonderful use of space, giving you easy access to what always gets pushed to the back & forgotten or can't be found. Drawers for plates etc. I find overhead cupboards hard to access what is at the back be it glasses or cups or foodstuff, so having these too deep is not practical. Pull out vertical shelves for your jars & packets. I like the idea of under cupboard & kick-board lighting. Have you considered a dust vent that you can sweep all your crumbs etc into? They are similar to ducted vacuum units & fitted at floor level under a cupboard. Also incorporate storage for all your appliances to hide them away. If you go with a glass splash-back, make sure it is clear glass as some is green tinged can ruin your intended effect. Enjoy your new kitchen....See MoreImportance of Cleaning of the household sewage pipe
Comments (0)The cleaning of the pipe is an operation that must be carried out regularly. In fact, wastewater usually carries household waste, small objects, and all kinds of materials that will not necessarily follow the water to its final destination, that is to say in the sewers. The cleaning of the pipe consists of cleaning the ducts of your pipes and unclogging them in the event of blockages. Property Service Provider has the right team and equipment to carry out the maintenance and cleaning of your wastewater pipes. This team has the know-how, experience, and equipment necessary to deal with any situation. Whether your pipe network is clogged or you simply want to clean it periodically, which is by far an encouraging choice, you can trust a professional. First of all, scales and bacteria that can stick to the walls of your ducts can, on the one hand, cause blockages that will slow down the flow of water. But these will also damage your pipes, as well as the joints. When nauseating odors appear the situation becomes unbearable. We can use traditional methods such as manual cleaning for example. However, we can only use this technique if your ducts are open and accessible. Otherwise, Wastewater The term "wastewater" is used both for water from toilets, which is also officially found under another name, blackwater, and water from our sinks, our showers, etc., which bear the name " gray water”. Toilet water contains potentially dangerous micro-organisms for us, our neighbors, and for our environment. This is why they cannot be discharged into nature without treatment, neither into the ground nor into natural water flow channels. We sometimes perceive gray water as clean water, but in reality, it very often contains chemicals from various sources. For example, we can cite our detergents, which are made of products that are not healthy for our environment. This is one of the reasons why you need the help of real professionals for the cleaning and maintenance of your sewer systems. Indeed, these products which are declared harmful are even more so when they are uncontrolled and when they have remained in your pipes... This is why it is unthinkable to clean your pipe system yourself, you do not have adequate equipment. Note also that by wastewater, we can also mean rainwater. Indeed, in some cases, depending on the sanitation policy of your city, wastewater and rainwater are mixed. And even if this is not the case, you must have the necessary equipment, therefore pipe networks specially designed for rainwater. The latter are generally cleaner and less prone to causing clogging unless they regularly collect mud or other waste in their path before passing through the sewer systems. Usually, the channel reserved for rainwater can be more open and easier to clean, except in certain cases depending on the nature of the terrain... The sewage pipeline There are two types of sanitation: the use of the collective sanitation system or the individual sanitation system. We normally make the choice according to your geographical location. For collective sanitation, know that your company handles the maintenance and cleaning of the network in general, from the sources of wastewater to the treatment plants or to other destinations. Your individual responsibility concerns the piping from your sinks and your various sanitary terminals, inside or outside your home, to the connection of your piping system to the city network. What is therefore called “source” for the local authority is this connection point. In the event of a problem, you must therefore take care of the part on your yourself, and the same is true for its maintenance. For individual sanitation, everything is under your responsibility. You can trust us for the following services: - Maintenance and cleaning of wastewater pipes - Hydro cleaning of wastewater pipes - Video inspection of wastewater pipes - Leak testing of pipes Why hire a professional It is true that you can try to clean your sewage pipes yourself. However, you unfortunately only have non-professional equipment. Of course, they can be employed, but nothing beats dedicated equipment, studied by the best specialists, and handled by technicians trained only for this work. For example, you can inject water into the ducts to try to clean them. You can also add certain products bought in supermarkets, however, nothing beats advanced techniques such as high-pressure hydro cleaning, for example. High pressure hydro jetting The high-pressure hydro-jetting system is practically the most widely used technique at the moment. This involves inserting a pipe fitted with a high-pressure nozzle capable of spraying the pipes from different angles into your pipes and a waterproof camera connected to a surface-controlled monitor. This system makes it possible to get even closer to the waste or bacteria found on the walls, to inject water at high pressure to make them take off from them. At the same time, you can check if your ducts are still in good condition and if there is no deterioration that deserves to be monitored in the future or if they need to be replaced. This is even more effective for buried conduits that you cannot check manually....See MoreImportance of Cleaning of household sewage pipe

Comments (6)This is called flexi hose, and there was a batch of inferior hoses installed in Australian homes that were suddenly bursting. This happened to us in our bathroom. Lucky we were home at the time, and turned the mains water off straight away. It’s caused by the strapping around the hose fraying, therefore weakening the hose. I can see a bit of fraying on your cold water flexi hose. I would get a plumber out and change all the flexi hoses in the entire home, that is what we did. This article explains: Most problems with flexible hoses come from the use of low-quality steel and brass barb fittings. When not properly manufactured or heat-treated, they are more susceptible to corrosion. The size of braiding is also important, as some of the cheapest flexible braided hoses use a thinner, weaker braid which can fail or corrode more easily. Some products provide an extra layer of protection against the incidence of bursting flexible hoses, with a plastic coating applied over the stainless steel braiding, making it more resistant to corrosion. As a general rule, always ensure that your flexible hoses display the WaterMark certification. Do flexible hoses last? Generally, stainless steel flexible hoses will need replacing every 5-10 years. Before you find yourself in deep water, it’s wise to check hoses regularly, preferably by a professional plumber. Look for signs of ageing, such as bulges, kinks, frayed areas or rust spots on the braided section of the pipe. Make sure you also check warranty period and expiry dates. If your hoses have reached their shelf life, or are showing any signs of wear, get in touch with a plumber Despite their relatively long shelf life, recent data released by insurance companies show that flexible hoses are the number one cause of internal flooding in Australian homes. Burst flexible water hoses cause more than 20% of water damage claims, sometimes bursting within months of their installation. As flexible hoses can leak up to 1,500 litres of water per hour, this can lead to irreversible water damage to your house. Why do flexible hoses burst? The rubber tube inside flexible hoses expands under pressure, and the stainless steel braid is designed to prevent further expansion. However, if the stainless steel fails and breaks, water pressure will cause the rubber lining to bulge out of the sleeve and rupture. Sometimes, damage occurs during installation, especially when people attempt to do plumbing installations themselves. Twisting or stretching the hose to make it fit during installation may cause a weak point in the hosing. Particular attention should be paid to the torquing of the nuts at either end of the connectors, too. If the nuts are not tightened enough, this will create a leak path on the outside of the hose. If they are too tight, the seal will rupture. In both cases, chlorine from the water supply will build up on the braiding and corrode it over time. Those leaks are the most common source of bursting. The presence of water exterior to the hose is required for corrosion, which is why most failures are seen under sinks, toilets and dishwashers. Flexible hoses used in closed cupboards under sinks are most at risk due to the high humidity environment caused by condensation. This is especially true for cupboards where household chemicals are stored. Those chemicals often contain chlorine which stays in the air in the closed cabinet and dissolves into hydrochloric acid under humidity, corroding the stainless steel braiding. Preventing bursts There are several things you can do to reduce the likelihood of a burst flexible hose, but as a general rule, remember that regular maintenance is much cheaper than damage repair. Buy good quality flexible hoses (with the WaterMark certification) and always get them installed by a licensed plumber Talk to your plumber to start a preventative maintenance program, regularly checking your flexible hoses for damage or leaks Get mini stop valves added on all water lines with flexible hose connections, so that they can easily be isolated in an emergency situation Install a vent hole in cupboards to allow for ventilation and reduce humidity and chlorine levels in closed cupboards where household chemicals are kept Switch off the main water supply of your home when you are going away for an extended period...See MoreSammy
