Be aware that artificial turf can get very hot underfoot. You could lay a narrow old brick or limestone paver path to clothes line for easy access and plant ground covers or low profile herbs (eg.oregano and thyme) to use in cooking. Hardy herbs or flowers such as rosemary, lavender, geraniums against the edges of the space toward the back. Even add some large long troughs of flowers on the retaining wall to pretty up the area. It looks like it could get quite warm there but maybe a jasmine or similar climber to climb up a frame attached to the part of the large wall where there is no clothes line. Good luck, it will be a lovely space I'm sure once you get started.

Hi. Good question from Gallifrey re ceiling height. I'm also wondering if you plan to install new fixture in same spot as the current ceiling oyster? And if you have your piano lid open most of the time? So height of light you are looking for is what? I like the idea of a Venetian chandelier, similar to the red one posted above. What about in black?

Hi , I kill every plant that is in my very dubious care . As a starter for the real gardeners , where is your town , tropical or temperate , and which way is your fence facing , ? East ? What height were you wanting your plants to grow to , how much care and water , flowering plants or trees ?. Or were you wanting a hedge . Trying local nurseries is also a good idea as they know what suits your climate . That is the only help that I can give unless you need some advice on termination not germination . There maybe a section for gardening questions on this site but I do not know where it is . Over now to the Houzzers .
