Help me fix my bathroom please
Comments (68)I remember years ago being in a similar predicament and someone gave me some mirror tiles - I glued them on the the wall and thought I was very clever. They actually did look much better in my eyes. Try not to spend too much - I think everyone's idea of a shower curtain will all the bathroom colours in it would probably be the best option. You'll laugh about it in years to come and you will love the improvements you make over time. Enjoy the moment, unless you're selling soon your ideas will change after living there, so change when you can afford it - who cares it's YOURS. Good luck, it's so rewarding and so much fun. P.S. now we have a small bathroom, wall to wall tiles, dark grey on the floor and white on all the walls with a large grey tile up each opposing wall, tall mirror over the handbasin which reflects the opposite wall then a full length bath with shower over it. It works perfectly and looks great....See MoreBathroom shower design fail
Comments (52)MB Design & Drafting, I have to contradict your comment about having only 1 floor waste, we have a large double shower with only 1 floor waste, ours is in the centre of our double shower, our tiles are black and by the time we get out of the shower the water on our shower floor is gone, I always clean the tiles and glass before leaving the shower, I leave the fan on while we dry and by the time we are dried our shower floor is almost dry, we have no trouble at all with only 1 floor waste.. Barbara, we have the same problem, which is not a problem at all, my husband likes his shower much hotter than me but we have our showers turned on to suit each other, we have a small seat at each end to sit on while we wash our hair and feet and each others backs....See MoreShould I let my husband project manage our bathroom renovations?
Comments (16)We have been renovating bathrooms for more than 20 years, of late and with (reality tv ) a bathroom renovation appear to take a mere few days. . It has now become unreal expectation, for a quick cheap bathroom renovations ( "I renovated my bathroom for $ 5,000" ) Bathroom renovation businesses and builders require a 25% to 30% for overheads plus profit. And most work, if not all is sub contracted out, demolition, plumbing, electrical, rendering ,villaboard, waterproofing, tiling. (one very large renovation business dictates rates to trades, e.g render a bathroom for $ 600 including materials.) Rather than to try and compete with the cheap, poor quality businesses,we have changing our business to advising/supporting/teaching home owners ( as your husband ) to renovate their own bathrooms, with our home inspections. The key to a Bathroom Renovation...is Meticulous Planning......See MoreBathroom vanity: Do you leave a gap or place it against the wall?
Comments (17)I would attach it to the vanity, it is awkward to try and reach behind you if you attach it to the wall or you could try a freestanding one that you could put anywhere though they might take up a bit of room when space is a bit tight...See Moreapple_pie_order
